HUDSON — Hudson withstood a gallant effort by Catskill to post a 52-41 Patroon Conference girls basketball victory in Sunday’s Coaches vs. Cancer event at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Catskill jumped out to a 14-5 lead by the end of the opening stanza, but Hudson went up 24-21 at halftime and led 35-31 after three quarters. The Bluehawks went on an 8-0 run in the final quarter and Catskill, beset by foul trouble, couldn’t catch up.

Deja Beauford scored 28 points to lead Hudson. Shayna Coppersmith contributed seven and Katie Jepsen had six.

Janay Brantley had a big game in defeat, pouring in 26 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

CATSKILL (41): Brantley 6-10-26, Konsul 1-4-6, Shook 1-0-3, Salierno 1-0-2, Leipman 1-1-4. Totals 10-15-41.

3-pointers: Brantley 4, Shook, Leipman.

Cairo-Durham 59, Greenville 23

HUDSON — Arianna Myers’ 27 points highlighted Cairo-Durham’s 59-23 victory over Greenville in Saturday’s Coaches vs. Cancer event at Columbia-Greene Community College.

McKayla Mudge added 14 points for Cairo-Durham, which held quartely leads of 17-5, 34-14 and 53-16.

Caitlyn Silk’s eight pointed topped Greenville.

GREENVILLE (23): Krasney 1-1-3, Duncan 0-0-0, Misuraca 3-0-6, Silk 3-0-8, Trostle 3-0-6. Totals 10-1-23.

Rensselaer 47, Taconic Hills 32

HUDSON — Rensselaer jumped out to a 12-point lead by the end of the first quarter and went on to defeat Taconic Hills, 47-32, in Saturday’s Coaches vs. Cancer event at Columbia-Greene Community College.

The Rams built quarterly leads of 16-4, 31-14 and 39-22 in earning the Patroon Conference victory.

Arianna Vogel and Mechelle Caver each had 13 points for Rensselaer. JAsmine Allert added 11.

Emily Mottoshski, Marleah Perry and Macayla Sparacino all had six points for the Titans.

TACONIC HILLS (32): Cooper 2-0-4, Kernan 2-0-4, Kilmer 1-0-2, Mottoshiski 2-1-6, Perry 2-0-6, Shumsky 1-1-4, Sparacino 2-2-6. Totals 12-4-32.

Germantown 36, Emma Willard 33

GERMANTOWN — Riley Gibbons scored 17 points to lead Germantown to a 36-33 victory over Emma Willard in Friday’s non-league girls basketball game.

The Clippers led 11-9 after one quarter, 16-11 at halftime and 24-21 through three quarters.

Emma Shields led Emma Willard with 13 points. Molly Zahnleuter had nine.
