HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGES SEEKS ENTRIES FOR GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST
HANCOCK, Mass. — Hancock Shaker Village invites bakers of all ages and skill levels to enter the Hancock Holidays Gingerbread House Contest. The theme is outstanding works of architecture. All submissions will be exhibited during Hancock Holidays, December 6–8. Registration forms must be received by Wednesday, November 27, and entries must be dropped off between November 30 and December 4. Participation in the contest is free and open to the public.
Each submission should be an interpretation of an architectural masterwork (including buildings from Hancock Shaker Village, if desired). Gingerbread houses will be judged in three categories: adult, family, and youth (ages 17 and under). Guest judges will choose winners, and Hancock Holidays attendees will select the visitor favorite. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Each participant receives two free admission passes to the Village during Hancock Holidays.

ABOUT HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE
Hancock Shaker Village, a living history museum on 750 acres in the heart of the Berkshires, is located at 1843 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, MA. A National Historic Landmark, the property includes twenty historic Shaker buildings dating back to 1783, and the oldest working farm in the Berkshires with heritage breeds and heirloom gardens. Hancock Shaker Village is open daily through November 11, 10 am–4 pm, and weekends only from November 16–December 22, 10 am–4 pm. Admission is $20/adults ($18 for seniors, AAA members, MTA cardholders, and active and retired US military), $8 youth (ages 13–17), and FREE for children 12 and under, courtesy of Berkshire Bank.
