It’s time for hunting, fishing, and gun show season

It’s that time of year again. No, I’m not just talking about the hustle and bustle with only three shopping days left before Christmas.

It’s time for hunters, trappers, fishermen and other outdoor enthusiasts to plan their strategy for attending the outdoor sport show circuit held throughout the winter. I’ve highlighted a few of the bigger, well known, annual events but included a few smaller shows in our area for your convenience.

The list below is not exhaustive by any means. It only highlights some of the shows you may be interested in that are coming up within the next month or so.

NEACA Fishkill Gun Show - January 11 and 12, 2020

Ramada Inn at Fishkill, NY, hosted by NEACA Inc.

NEACA Polish Community Center Gun Show - January 18 and 19, 2020, (with additional show on March 28th and 29th.) Albany, NY. These Albany gun shows will be held at Polish Community Center at 225 Washington Ave Ext, Albany, NY 12205 and are also hosted by NEACA Inc.

Albany Gun Show - January 25 and 26, 2020.

This gun show is held at Empire State Plaza Convention Center and is hosted by New York State Arms Collectors Association.

Garden State Outdoor Sports Show - January 9 through January 12, 2020

New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, 97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ.

New York Sportsman’s Expo - January 24 through January 26, 2020

NYS Fairgrounds 581 State Fair Blvd Syracuse NY

The Sidney Gun & Knife Show - February 2, 2020 in Sidney, NY.

This gun & knife show will be at the Elks Lodge in Sidney NY, and hosted by Midstate Arms Collectors.

The Great American Outdoor Show at Harrisburg, Pa. – February 1 through February 9, 2020

This huge, nine-day annual event that celebrates hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions will be held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pa.

World Fishing & Outdoor Expo – Suffern, NY - February 27 through March 1, 2020

This is another big event held at the Rockland Community College, 145 College Road Suffern, NY

The Fly-Fishing Show – Two locations, two dates:

Fly-fishing Show – Marlborough, Massachusetts: January 17 through January 19, 2020. This show will be held at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center, 181 Boston Post Road Marlborough, MA

Fly-fishing Show – Edison, New Jersey: January 24th through January 26th, 2020. This show will be held at the Convention and Exposition Center 97 Sunfield Avenue, Edison, NJ.

Save the Date: February 15th 2020

The Catskill Mountain F&G Club/Stony Clove F&G Club Youth Ice Fishing Derby

The date for this event is scheduled for Saturday, February 15th; ice conditions permitting.

Sign-in begins at 9 a.m. with youth fishing from 10 a.m.-noon. There will be prizes for all kids attending, plus refreshments will be available. For more information call Bob Monteleone at 518-488-0240.
