COEYMANS — With all election districts counted, unofficial voting results indicate that challenger Rocco Persico leads long-time incumbent Kevin Reilly for Coeymans town justice.

But the race is close, with just over 40 votes separating the two candidates. And with roughly 100 absentee ballots waiting to be counted, the race could conceivably swing in Reilly’s favor.

As of Wednesday morning, the results were too close to call and will depend on the counting of absentee ballots.

On election night, Persico received 1,194 votes, or 50.81 percent, compared to Reilly’s 1,153 votes, or 49.06 percent.

Persico was on the Democratic ticket, and Reilly was running on the Conservative and Independence tickets.

All election results are unofficial pending counting of absentee ballots and certification.
