Police: Suspect sought in Green Street Deli robbery

HUDSON — Area police are on the lookout for a man suspected of robbing a Hudson convenience store Tuesday morning, according to city police. the man entered the Green Street Deli, at 67 Green St., around 7 a.m., jumped over the counter and stole money from the cash register, Hudson Police Chief L. Edward Moore said Tuesday.

The clerk was forced to run and hide in the store cooler for his own safety, Moore said. It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was armed.

The clerk told police that the man damaged property and ran out of the store in an unknown direction, Moore said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described by Hudson police as a white male, around 6 feet tall, 25 to 30 years old, Moore said. The man was also carrying a backpack.

Police did not immediately disclose how much money was taken. The deli was closed for a time Tuesday but it reopened later.
