Police: Knife-wielding man charged in domestic dispute
GREENPORT — A town resident was charged Dec. 27 in connection with threatening another person with a knife during a domestic dispute, state police said.
Bruce Hotaling Jr., 42, of Greenport, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony, and second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor, after state police responded at about 8 p.m. Dec. 27 to a report of a domestic disturbance on Joslen Boulevard, according to police.
Police arrived at the scene and found Hotaling armed with a knife and involved in a domestic dispute. During the incident, Hotaling threatened the victim’s life with the knife, police said.
Hotaling was arraigned before in Claverack Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Greenport Town Court on Jan. 7.
