LOCAL ROUNDUP: ICC volleyball remains unbeaten
VALATIE — Ichabod Crane earned its 13th Patroon Conference boys volleyball without a loss on Wednesday, defeating Voorheesville, 3-1.
The Riders took the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-5, dropped the third, 25-21, then came back to take the fourth, 25-22.
For ICC, Harrison Puckett had 21 assists, 5 kills and 2 aces; Dean Warner 13 kills and 2 blocks; Cam Ames 2 kills, 2 aces and 4 digs; Jake Siter 7 kills, 3 digs and 2 aces; Jim Konderwich 5 kills and 2 blocks; Jared Cook 9 digs; Bobby Boll 2 digs; Ryan Tricozzi 5 aces and 3 kills.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Coxsackie-Athens 62, Cairo-Durham 43
COXSACKIE — Coxsackie-Athens broke open a close game with a big second half in posting a 62-43 Patroon Conference boys basketball victory over Cairo-Durham on Wednesday.
The Indians led 15-12 after one quarter and 29-27 at halftime, but outscored the Mustangs 33-16 over the final two quarters to earn the victory.
Kane Schrader paced the Indians with a 20-point effort. Josh Kiefer added 16.
Ethan Handel’s 20 points topped Cairo-Durham. Ethan Phillips had 11.

RENSSELAER — Rensselaer had four players reach double figures in scoring in handing Chatham a 68-37 Patroon Conference boys basketball setback on Wednesday.
Ramell Johnson’s 18 points led the Rams. Samir Lockhart had 15, Patrick sullivan 12 and Xavier Baker 10.
Jayshawn Williams had 13 for Chatham. Tobias Jeralds chipped in with 11.
CHATHAM (37): Baccaro 1-0-2, Clarke 0-1-1, Gregg 1-0-3, Jeralds 4-3-11, Kastner 1-0-2, Thorsen 2-0-5, Williams 5-2-13. Totals 14-6-37.
