Area schools adding archery to PE curriculum
HUDSON — The Hudson City School District is adding Archery to the Physical Education curriculum after many students expressed interest in it and other outdoor skills.
To become certified Basic Archery Instructors, Hudson PE teachers participated in a day-long training with Jill Trunko from the Department of Environmental Conservation recently.
Teachers from Germantown and Ichabod Crane also participated in the training with Trunko, who is the State Coordinator for the National Archery in Schools Program.
Hudson plans to introduce the NASP curriculum in October, starting with 11th and 12th graders.
