John P. Bermingham passed away February 21, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospice. Born February 13, 1950 at St. Annes, Fermoy Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Walsh Bermingham.

He was raised in Shanballymore, Co. Cork Ireland and was a graduate of Rochestown College. After graduation he moved to England where he became employed at Lloyd’s Bank of London. Moving on to New York, he attended Fordham University and graduated from Sienna College with a major in Finance. Becoming a member of the Cement and Concrete Workers Union, Local 18A, he focused on a career in construction in NYC. He also spent a couple of years employed on the Alaskan Pipeline Project. John was very social and enjoyed his time with family and friends as well as The Toastmasters of Hudson, NY.

He is survived by his sons, John and Peter, Granddaughter, Brigid Rose, Brothers, Walter and Redmond (Briget), Sister, Eleanor, former wife, Carol (Moller), nieces, nephews along with his dear friend Gabriel Palmer.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10 to 11:30am at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. James Church, Chatham, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions in John’s name may be made to St. Peter’s Hospice, Albany, NY.
