LOCAL ROUNDUP: Catskill finishes perfect in Patroon
COXSACKIE — Catskill wrapped up a perfect season in Patroon Conference boys basketball with a 96-69 victory over Coxsackie-Athens on Tuesday.
The Cats finish 16-0 in the Patroon (18-1 overall) and have a non-league game at Cohoes on Monday, before opening up sectional play.
Coxsackie-Athens made the Cats work for their 16th victory, trailing by just 19-13 after one quarter and 46-39 at halftime. Catskil opened up a 66-54 advantage after three quarter,s then put the game away with a 30-15 scoring edge over the final eight minutes.
Lavon Fernandez scored 32 points to lead Catskill. Leviticus Johnson had 16, DeVon Haye 14 and Melik Christian 11.
John Kiefer’s 24-point effort topped C-A. Kane Schrader contributed 19.

EAST DURHAM — Rian Jewett scored 26 points to highlight Maple Hill’s 61-38 Patroon Conference boys basketball victory over Cairo-Durham on Tuesday.
The Wildcats built a 19-8 lead after one quarter of play andwere up 35-12 at halftime and 43-20 through three quarters.
Blake Decker contributed 14 points to Maple Hill’s cause.
Johnathan Doble led Cairo-Durham with 20 points. Ethan Handel chipped in with 10.

VALATIE — Shane O’Dell dropped 33 points to lead Schalmont to a 82-32 victory over Ichabod Crane in Tuesday’s Colonial Council boys basketball game.
With O’Dell leading the way, the Sabres built quarterly leads of 25-12, 49-17 and 67-21.
Trent Randle followed O’Dell in scoring for Schalmont with 14 points.
Zach Kennedy had 11 points for Ichabod Crane.

ROTTERDAM — Haley Burchhardt and Payton Graber combined for 42 points as Schalmont defeated Ichabod Crane, 69-52, in Tuesday’s Colonial Council girls basketball game.
Burchardt and Graber each had 21 points for the Sabres, who overcame a 16-12 deficit after one quarter to go up 36-29 at halftime and 49-36 after three quarters.
Karissa Antoine had 18 points for Schalmont.
Madie Graham led Ichabod Crane with 18 points. Abigail Dolge had 14 points and Clare Knapp contributed 12.

The Clippers led 34-16 at halftime and 4332 after three quarters.
Riley Gibbons led the Clippers with 16 points. Megna Dunn had 10 and Kaycee Hayes nine.
Jen Mentzer had 18 points for Hawthorne Valley. Merril Lews contributed 14.
