More information needed

To the editor:

I just had to response to the Nov. 29 headline ‘Peckham C & D materials clean.’ An early assumption and I was appalled at first thinking it was an attempt to fill in an old mine site as has been proposed to the south.

Then I read ‘berms”? Obviously, much more information is needed and number one is that DEC issue a “positive declaration” for their SEQRA review. Requiring a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) — prepared at the project sponsors’ expense, no cost to taxpayers.
