PRATTSVILLE — Happy Thanksgiving. Many it be filled with family, friends, and love, and give thanks.

If you do not have the latest copy of Catskill Tri-County Historical Views, Vol. 2, No. 2, Fall 2019, get your hands on one. Very interesting and Prattsville’s own Kelli Huggins, daughter of Ted and Sharon Huggins, has an article featured in it. The article is titled Modern Dianas Wild Women of the Catskills. Proud parents have kept The Scoop up-to-date on Kelli’s various and varied accomplishments. Congratulations to all. In the booklet there are many more authors who will be known to you, as well as those named in memorium. Good job all around. Can’t wait until the next issue.

Hats off to the Prattsville Fire Company on their community Baked Ziti dinner. It was very well attended and with the various raffles and 50/50 drawing, people stayed until ?????? Hard to find a parking spot. Gerald Jaeger was the big winner for the 50/50 and very generously donated part of the prize back to the firemen. Win/win situation. Gerald brought his championship golf ring he won at Christman’s in the senior, 62 plus, tournament. You have to be a dedicated golfer to wear that ring — it is HEAVY. Were the delicious desserts mentioned? If not, they were delicious and plentiful. Heard rumors there might be more dinners, plus breakfasts, in the future.

Prattsville was buzzing with hunters, like in “old times.” Good for many Prattsville businesses and we wish them success. With that we want to mention “Buy in Greene.” There is a website to check all the places to do your shopping. At this time of year with the Christmas season quickly coming upon us, check out our local businesses for outright gifts or if you can’t decide or the product is not suitable for placing under the Christmas tree, give a gift certificate for a special item.

Sympathy to the family of Candy Timm of Conesville. You are in our prayers and thoughts. We send our condolences to the Dennis Moore family of Grand Gorge. All are in our prayers.

Bob and Ginny Gurley accepted the invitation to join the Catskill American Legion Honeyford Memorial Post 110 for breakfast at the Ambrosia Diner in Catskill on Nov. 9. Post has a standing invitation to all veterans and guests to join them for breakfast the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at Ambrosia Diner in Catskill. WWII and Korean War veterans will be guests of the post. Others will pay their bill. Think about accepting the invitation to join in.
