Thank you to Assemblymember Didi Barrett
To the editor:
As president of the Dutch Village Homeowners Association, I write to thank Assemblymember Didi Barrett for her help with the recent restriping of Route 66 from Claverack Creek to Fish and Game Road.
Our Association recently invited Assemblymember Barrett to our annual picnic, and she listened to our concerns for nearly an hour. One of our concerns was that Route 66 in front of Dutch Village was a passing zone in both directions. Many of the senior citizens who live here are uncomfortable when cars pass them as they slow down to turn. After hearing this, Assemblymember Barrett made NYS DOT aware of the issue and pushed them to reconsider the striping. A few weeks later, DOT added double yellow lines to the road so that no cars can pass.
I appreciate that Didi came to Dutch Village to hear us out, and I thank her for being responsive to our concerns. I look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.
