Venanzo Carlucci, 87, of Ghent passed away peacefully February 12, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

He was born on June 11, 1932 the son of the late Augusto and Sarah Carlucci. After graduating high school he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he was a Golden Glove boxer. When he returned home, he went to work for IBM in both Poughkeepsie and Kingston where after 30 plus years he retired. His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed square dancing and camping.

Venanzo is survived by two devoted children, Julia Carlucci Greer (Adam Greer) and Nicolina Carlucci McKay (Michael McKay), and his six beloved grandchildren, Christina and Chantel Carlucci, Thomas and Ashley Greer, and Dustin (Ashley Smith) and Sarah McKay. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, Mycah, Lucas, Haniah, Eli, Owen, Charlotte, Thomas, and Riley, in addition to his sister Julia Carlucci Graziano. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Carlucci in 2015, his brothers Nicola and Ronald Carlucci, his sister Angela Ferraro, and his nephew, Louis Ferraro.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday February 19, 2020 from the Bates and Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery. Visitation will Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Donations in Venanzo’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
