Empty
WAJ students, Liliana Pranzo, Brianna Leishear & Paris Carreras recently performed at the Zone 10 Area All State Festival held Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 at the New York State School Music Association Zone 10 Area All State Festival at Hudson High School. To qualify for this honor, students must have a near perfect audition on a level six solo at the NYSSMA Festival that happens each Spring. They must also exhibit a high level of dedication and responsibility for their musical studies and be recommended by their directors. Thousands of applications for students who meet this criteria are reviewed by a state committee panel, who determines group size, instrumentation/voicing and repertoire. The students performed in two of the four ensembles in this zone. Paris Carreras sang with 55 other musicians in the Treble Voices Choir. Brianna Leishear and Liliana Pranzo played Flute in the 85 member Concert Band.
