Woman treated for chest pain after Ghent crash

GHENT — A Hudson woman was treated for chest pains Sunday following a one-vehicle accident in Ghent, according to police.

Angnetta Moultrie-Williams, 61, of Hudson, was driving west on German Church Road, east of Route 66 in Ghent, in a 2008 Nissan Versa at around 9:41 a.m. when the vehicle veered off the north side of the road, according to a statement from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

The car then struck a New York State Electric and Gas Corporation utility pole.

No passengers were in the vehicle with Moultrie-Williams, according to police. She complained of chest pain and was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson by the Chatham Rescue Squad.

Police ticketed Moultrie-Williams for speeding and failing to use a designated lane, according to police. She will return to the Ghent Town Court at a later date.

The Chatham Rescue Squad and the Ghent Fire Department assisted at the scene.
