Ghent man pleads guilty to DWI

HUDSON — A Ghent man pleaded guilty to drunken driving in Columbia County Court on March 8, according to a news release from the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

Joseph Martino, 25, waived a grand jury indictment and was convicted of two counts of driving while intoxicated. Driving while intoxicated is a misdememanor, punishable by up to one year in jail for the first offense, according to state Penal Law.

The crime was committed in Ghent.

Columbia County Judge Jonathan Nichols scheduled Martino’s sentencing for April 26.

Sgt. Jeffrey Hofstetter and Deputy Steven Rose of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case and arrested Martino.

Martino is represented by the Columbia County Public Defender’s Office.
