Special preview screening to be held

CHATHAM — The Crandell Theatre in collaboration with Columbia Pathways to Recovery invites the public to a special preview screening of UPROOTING ADDICTION: Healing From The Ground Up, at noon March 1 at the theater, 48 Main St., Chatham.

Uprooting Addiction is a mosaic-like portrait of six individuals, each affected by childhood trauma, who come together to share their stories and examine the life-altering events of the past.

Interweaving these personal stories are accounts of the collective response and action from a diverse group of activists, officials, volunteers, caregivers, and experts, giving an ultimately positive message. Uprooting Addiction is a portrait of a community coming together to take on one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Screening run time is 65 minutes.

The screening will be followed by panel discussion with filmmaker Tory Jadow, executive producer Edie Dao Schechter, and Peter Volkmann, Chatham Chief of Police, Hudson Police Commissioner, and founder of Chatham Cares 4U. Volkman was recently a guest of the 2019 State of the Union address in honor of his work.
